Boat Lane Tracking Settings

Pylon Antenna Offset
For Sure-Path to calculate boat deviations from a path down the centre of the slalom or jump course, the rover antenna is normally mounted in the centre of the boat and as close to the ski pylon as is practicable. However, in this position, the antenna and its mount are somewhat vulnerable to being knocked or damaged by flying ski handles and people moving around the boat.

This is a setting which allows the antenna to be mounted in a position which is not on the centre line of the boat but which is less vulnerable to handles and bodies. The entered value should be the perpendicular distance of the centre of the antenna to the centreline of the boat in centimetres. A positive value is to the right of centre, a negative value is to the left of centre when facing forward. Do not assume that all pylon mounts are the same length! There are at least 3 versions out there and the puck style mount is a different length to the white antenna mount.

Sure-Path can then use this offset value to correctly calculate the deviation of the ski pylon from the centre of the boat lane.

For more details on how to measure the offset, see here...

Boat Threshold Speed
This is the minimum speed (in kph) that the boat has to be going before Sure-Path tracks the boat path in the slalom or jump course. This also means that if a skier falls and the boat slows down below the threshold set, then it also stops recording the boat path.

Default is 30kph.

Replay Speed Factor
The speed at which a boat path is replayed can be set to 50%, 100%, 150%, 200% or 300%.

Show Boat Lane Averages
Selects whether to show "Offset" and "Width" on the main boat lane screen. Even when disabled, these values will still be available on the Stats screen which is displayed via a "long press" on the boat lane screen.

Show All Zone Data
Selects whether to show "Zone" values on the End Of Pass summary screen.

Slalom Boat Lane Width
In slalom boat lane mode, this setting specifies the width of the boat lane (the blue band) as a percentage of the screen width. A smaller figure means that the boat does not appear to move a lot during the pass and is fairly representative of the real life movement. However, if a driver wishes to see an exagerated boat movement for training purposes, then this value can be increased as much as you like. The default is 100, ie the boat lane fills the width of the screen.

Show Jump Differentials (CUT/FLIGHT)
Selects whether to show the display of two new metrics for the Jump boat lane path.
CUT is the difference between the boat's deviation from the requested split at the MTs minus the boat's deviation at the NTs. A positive value indicates the boat has moved away from the ramp; a negative value indicates the boat has moved towards the ramp.
FLIGHT is the difference between the boat's deviation at the ETs minus the boat's deviation at the MTs. Again, positive is away from the ramp and negative is towards the ramp.

The CUT area is where the skier is cutting from the wide position (away from the ramp) through to when he/she leaves the ramp. The FLIGHT area is where the skier is in the air and landing. Thus these two metrics give a good indication of how the boat is moving in these two critical areas of the Jump course.

Audible Warnings Width (Slalom/Jump)
You can set how far off the centre line the boat needs to be to trigger the audible warnings. Slalom and Jump widths can be individually set.

Boat Image
You can select which brand of boat is used for the boat image in the live deviation tracking graphic. There are also options for a "sketch" boat (no brand) or just a black circle representing the ski pylon itself (the default).
