Installing Sure-Path Phone Apps
If you have had to replace one of your Sure-Path Android handsets, you can download and re-install the Android apps as follows:
Rover App
On the new phone itself, use the browser (usually Chrome) to go to https://tinyurl.com/sure-path-rover to download and install the app. You will need to give permission and possibly start the process a second time.
The rover app is copy protected and so when it is first run, it will say it is unregistered. From the main screen menu, select "About Sure-Path" and then click "REGISTER". The screen will then show a "Start Key". Either copy the Start Key or take a screenshot and send it to info@sure-path.com. If you are an existing customer, you will be provided with a Licence Key which can be pasted back into the app to fully enable it.
You will also need to do the following:
- Bluetooth pair the phone to the rover receiver. More info here...
- Under "GPS & Network Settings", you will need to either enter the Sure-Path Mountpoint and Sure-Path Password for your Sure-Path base station, or if you are using a public CORS network of base stations, enter the relevant NTRIP server settings.
- Ensure the phone has internet access (usually via a sim card and cell coverage).
- Transfer any course mapping files from your old phone to the new phone. More info here...
Base App
On the new phone itself, use the browser (usually Chrome) to go to https://tinyurl.com/sure-path-base to download and install the app. You will need to give permission and possibly start the process a second time.
The app is not copy protected and so you will only need to do the following.
- Bluetooth pair the phone to the base receiver. More info here...
- Under the main settings menu, enter the NTRIP/TCP Mountpoint and NTRIP/TCP Password settings that have been allocated to you.
- Ensure the phone has internet access, either via WiFi or cell coverage (sim card).
- Although your current base "self survey" is still stored within the receiver itself, you may also want to save it as a file on the base phone itself so that it can be restored if necessary. To do this, connect the phone direct to the receiver via an OTG adapter as if you were going to do a new self survey. Click the Base Self Surveys button and then click the "Save Survey" button. This will transfer the current receiver self survey to the filename of your choice on the phone itself.
